Cork Theatre Collective presents SHOW, a work in progress event from four Cork artists.

Friday 8 November: there are two SHOWS – by invitation only

Saturday 9 November

Block 1: 13:00 – 14.30 (Doors 12.30)

IRENE KELLEHER / FOOTNOTE
Footnote is a one-woman comedy, told from the point of view of Noreen Gilhooly, a long struggling writer who works in her local bookshop for the past ten years ago. Noreen dreams of emulating the success of her mother, the famous poet, author and feminist-activist Genevieve de Lacy.

ISOLDE FENTON / IN A BAD WAY
Grá is sick. With what, she’s not sure. But it’s there, absolutely. Definitely. Maybe. IN A BAD WAY is a darkly comic one woman show about hypochondria.

Block 2: 16:00 – 17.30 (Doors 15:30)

DOROTHÉE KAREKEZI / THE BIG CHOP
The Big Chop is a dramedy that follows the lives of three women on a journey of self discovery and empowerment. It tackles identity, social norms and personal growth, showing how something as simple as a haircut can symbolise deep transformation.

JOHN FRANCIS SCALLY / THE SAD PANTO
A musical horror comedy, a cross-genre piece of political commentary, using varying formats of theatre to tell a complex, strange, entertaining, heartfelt story about shared suffering, the way people deal with it, and the importance of remaining hopeful in the face of monolithic structures.
