Eamonn Walsh opens his Christmas tour at Triskel Arts Centre, Cork, with an intimate evening of music to kickstart the festive season.

Over the years, Eamonn’s Christmas concerts have become a much-loved tradition, with audiences growing year after year. His annual 700-seat concert in Mitchelstown has sold out in under 24 hours, while last year’s performances at Triskel Arts Centre and the Irish Cultural Centre in London also sold out. This year, Eamonn returns to Cork, London and Mitchelstown with a programme combining Christmas favourites, classical gems, Irish song and popular favourites.

Eamonn has recently performed with Wexford Festival Opera, appearing as Manuel in Balfe’s The Rose of Castille and Le Joueur Bossu in Prokofiev’s The Gambler, alongside performances
in Iris and L’equivoco stravagante. Earlier this year, he appeared at London’s Grimeborn Opera Festival at the Arcola Theatre in Ned Rorem’s Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters, and performed a sold-out concert in the unique setting of Mitchelstown Caves.

Previous engagements include touring the UK as a Wild Arts Young Artist, covering Nemorino in The Elixir of Love, and performing Arturo in Barefoot Opera’s UK tour of Lucia di Lammermoor. He made his Wigmore Hall debut in a masterclass with tenor Nicky Spence and took part in Hurn Court Opera’s Emerging Young Singers programme with Patricia Rozario OBE. Eamonn has also performed widely as an oratorio soloist across the UK and Ireland in works including Haydn’s Creation, Mozart’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah, and has previously performed with the Irish National Opera Chorus.

A graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Eamonn completed his Master’s in Music Performance with First-Class Honours and was the recipient of the Kathleen Creed Scholarship.

Eamonn is no stranger to Cork audiences, having performed as Prince Charming in Cork Opera House’s Sleeping Beauty, as well as singing as a boy soprano alongside leading Irish artists including Cara O’Sullivan, Evelyn Grant and Frank McNamara.

For this year’s Triskel concert, Eamonn will be joined by Cork native pianist Georgina Cassidy and a Cork-based string ensemble.

About the Musician

Irish tenor Eamonn Walsh, from Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, is establishing a versatile career across opera, concert and musical theatre. A graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music
and Dance, he completed his Master’s in Music Performance with First-Class Honours as a Kathleen Creed Scholarship recipient, following his undergraduate studies at Maynooth University.

In 2026, Eamonn joined Wexford Festival Opera, performing the roles of Manuel in Balfe’s The Rose of Castille and Le Joueur Bossu in Prokofiev’s The Gambler, alongside appearances in Mascagni’s Iris and Rossini’s L’equivoco stravagante. Earlier in the year, he appeared at London’s Grimeborn Opera Festival at the Arcola Theatre in Ned Rorem’s Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters.

Eamonn was a 2025 Wild Arts Opera Young Artist, touring the UK in The Elixir of Love and covering the role of Nemorino, with the tour including a performance at Opera Holland Park. He subsequently toured with Barefoot Opera as Arturo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, including performances at London’s Arcola Theatre, where Everything Theatre described him as having “talent written all over him.” His repertoire also includes Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Rodolfo (La bohème), Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and Tom Rakewell (The Rake’s Progress).

On the concert stage, Eamonn has appeared as a soloist in works including Haydn’s Creation and Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, Vesperae Solennes de Confessore and Coronation
Mass, and Handel’s Messiah, performing across Ireland and the UK. He has also performed internationally with Vox Integra in Italy and previously with the Irish National Opera Chorus in Fidelio and Carmen. He has taken part in masterclasses at Wigmore Hall with tenor Nicky Spence OBE and at Hurn Court Opera with Patricia Rozario OBE.

Alongside his classical work, Eamonn has a background in musical theatre. He performed as Prince Charming in Cork Opera House’s Sleeping Beauty and won Best Male Performer at the All-Ireland Musical Intervarsities for his performance as Jamie in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. He also played the role of Éabhar in the premiere of Tír na nÓg: The Musical at Dublin’s dlr Mill Theatre.

Eamonn began performing as a boy soprano at the age of ten, appearing nationwide alongside leading Irish artists including Cara O’Sullivan, Evelyn Grant and Frank McNamara. He later became a choral scholar at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, and a member of Maynooth University Chamber Choir, appearing as a soloist on RTÉ Christmas and Easter
broadcasts.

Alongside his operatic career, Eamonn produces his own concert series in Ireland and the UK.
