Take part in a guided walking tour of Island City: Cork’s Urban Sculpture Trail led by Sample-Studios’ Art Historian and sculpture specialist Dr Matthew Whyte. Tours are FREE but booking is essential.

Tours commence at Triskel Arts Centre and last for one hour.

This tour on 9 April will be a Ukrainian language tour with translation offered by visual artist Viktoria Kondratieva, from Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, Ukraine.

A series of innovative access services are available during these tours. These services include:

  • ISL interpretation*
  • Assisted listening technology
  • Tactile resources
  • Audio description via NaviLens codes.

When booking, please indicate which of the above services you require and if you have any additional access requirements.

*Please note that for ISL interpretation we require 2 weeks’ notice in advance due to ISL interpreter availability.

Suitable for all ages, including children from ages 6+ accompanied by an adult.

Walking tours will involve moving across the city centre, including crossing streets and mounting kerbs. While the tours welcome all participants, the nature of the route and the duration of the tours may prove challenging for some people with disabilities.

Sample-Studios in partnership with Cork City Council will be offering a series of monthly tours of Island City: Cork’s Urban Sculpture Trail throughout 2025. Future dates will be announced on a rolling basis so stay tuned for updates.
