Trygve Seim Ensemble

“Different Rivers is melancholy, lonely, hypnotizing music – harder to escape from than to listen to. Like a fireplace in an ice palace, you get hooked on it; it’s almost physical” – Mike Zwerin

As part of the Cork Midsummer Festival, the Trygve Seim Ensemble will perform at Triskel Arts Centre in an exclusive Irish concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of their acclaimed ECM album Different Rivers. The ensemble will present selections from both Different Rivers and its follow-up Sangam, along with new compositions Seim has written for the ensemble in recent years.

Since 1999, Trygve Seim has had a close artistic partnership with legendary producer Manfred Eicher and the renowned ECM Records label. With 24 releases produced by Eicher, Seim stands as the most featured Norwegian musician of his generation on the ECM roster. Trygve Seim Ensemble has a unique instrument line-up, and the members consists of highly skilled ensemble musicians who are also outstanding soloists in their own personal way.
