Cork PianoFest 2025: Recital Series

Following on from last year’s Cork PianoFest, we are delighted to present another three-concert series at Triskel as part of the 2025 festival with performances from students and lecturers from MTU Cork School of Music, including our first collaborative concert with singers and a special focus on the music of Maurice Ravel to mark his 150th anniversary this year.” – Michael McHale & Gabriela Mayer

Kicking off our PianoFest on 23 May 1:00PM is The Piano Masters in their first recital, performing Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Chopin, through to the twentieth-century with French composers Debussy and Ravel, and the Russian firebrand Kabalevsky and his virtuosic Rondo.

Next on 30 May 1:00PM we have Songs of Love and Loss. Exploring themes of love and loss, and of life and death, this programme presents a wide range of songs in German, Italian, and English.

Finally on 6 Jun 1:00PM we have From Cork to Buenos Aires to Paris. The final programme takes us on a whistle-stop world tour starting in Ireland, with music from Cork composers Linda Buckley and John Gibson, Dublin composer Philip Martin and Bill Whelan’s solo piano transcription ‘The Currach” from his double violin concerto, then follows on to Argentina, until finally reaching the midday church bells of La vallée des cloches in Paris, bringing the series to an atmospheric conclusion.

Tickets to the Cork PianoFest Recital Series are on sale now.
