We’re deep into the 2026 film awards season and here at Triskel Cinema, we’ll be screening some of the wonderful winners over the coming weeks!
Screening until Wednesday, you can catch Joachim Trier’s gorgeous family drama Sentimental Value, which boasts a magnificent Golden Globe-winning (and Oscar-nominated!) turn from the great Stellan Skarsgård, as aging auteur/complicated father Gustav Borg. We recommend checking out his fab speech here, wherein Stellan advocates for the importance of seeing films in movie theatres (we agree!). Sentimental Value picked up an incredible nine Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and acting noms for the incredible trio of Renate Reinsve, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas and Elle Fanning.
Timothee Chalamet continued his triumphant awards run with a Golden Globe win for his electrifying turn as the audacious ping-pong champ/all-around scoundrel Marty Mauser. You can see Timmy in action in Josh Safdie’s thrilling comedy-drama Marty Supreme, which screens at Triskel Cinema from Sunday 1 February.
Also coming up in February, we screen the acclaimed drama The Voice of Hind Rajab. A sensitive and deeply moving film, The Voice of Hind Rajab is a powerful dramatization of the behind-the-scenes turmoil of Red Crescent volunteers when Palestinian child Hind Rajab is attacked by Israeli forces. The Voice of Hind Rajab has garnered much critical praise and many accolades, including a Golden Globe nomination and an Oscar nomination for Best International Feature.
