Peter Greenaway Season

Triskel Arts Centre is delighted to present a short season celebrating one of British cinema’s most striking and unique talents: Peter Greenaway. Three feature films will be screened. The debut narrative feature The Draughtsman’s Contract from 1982, recently restored by the British Film Institute, is a wonderfully idiosyncratic tale hailed by critic Alexander Walker as “stunningly original”. A Zed & Two Noughts from 1985 has a beautiful Michael Nyman score while Philip French of The Observer wrote, “The energy is immense, the appearance of the film consistently sleek and visually exciting.” The Belly of an Architect, Greenaway’s third narrative feature from 1987, is set in  Rome and contains one of the greatest performances from the much-missed American actor Brian Dennehy.
