To celebrate the start of Seachtain na Gaeilge 2024 , and for one night only, Cork City Council in association with Triskel will have a free screening of the Oscar-nominated An Cailin Ciúin feature length Irish language movie on Friday 1 March at 7pm.
Speaking at the announcement Chris Dorgan, Irish Development Officer at Cork City Council, explained, “Every year Cork City Council, through it’s Grúpa Forbartha Gaeilge, organises and supports Irish language events throughout the city to mark the importance of the Irish language to fluent and not so fluent Irish speakers to help them enjoy using what Irish they have in an informal and fun way. In addition to the above, there will be a programme of events throughout the Council’s library network and at other locations throughout the city organised and run by other voluntary organisation we support.”
