78 mins – France 2019 – Subtitles – Dir: Marc Collin
Starring: Alma Jodorowsky, Philippe Rebbot and Geoffrey Carey

In the Paris of 1978, old formulas do not charm listeners anymore and new music must arise. In a male-dominated industry, Ana uses her electronic gadgets to make herself heard, creating a new sound that will mark the decades to come: the music of the future.

Director’s Note: “Given my DNA, I wanted to make a film about music. Logic. For example, the relationship between a fan and an artist. And then the idea evolved. The main character, a man, became a woman, who invented electronic music in France. This allowed me to pay tribute to all the women who have worked in this field and who are, as often sadly(!) forgotten or even passed over in silence. For example, we know Jean-Michel Jarre, but not Eliane Radigue. The Shock of the Future attempts to repair this injustice and show how electronic music was created half a century ago, while emphasizing the importance of women in this process.”
