Tobe Hooper – Master of the macabre
When The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was released in 1974, cinema changed forever. Even almost after forty-five years the film retains its ability to shock and is one of the most influential horror movies of all time. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre introduced the world to one of genre cinema’s most esoteric and outlandish voices. Tobe Hooper went on to make a number of wonderfully creepy and quirky pictures and Triskel Arts Centre, as part of its cult movie ‘Twisted Celluloid’ strand, are delighted to present this tribute to the late director, who passed away in August of last year. Come and experience several of his finest works digitally remastered, uncensored and in a cinema with an unsuspecting audience.
