Set in Glasgow during the mid-seventies, Ratcatcher explores the experiences of a young boy as he struggles to reconcile his dreams and his guilt with the abjection that surrounds him. A short film will be shown before Ratcatcher.

There will be a post-screening discussion with Maximilian Le Cain, who has made more than ninety short, medium and feature length experimental films and videos over the past decade. He is affiliated with Experimental Film Society.

He is currently working in creative partnership with sound/performance artist Vicky Langan. He collaborates with artist Esperanza Collado in the multi-disciplinary art project Operation Rewrite and with composer Karen Power on the sound / film / performance project Gorging Limpet. He is a contributor to the Cinema Cyanide noise project.

Lynne Ramsay Retrospective

Deep Focus: Women In Film is delighted to present a retrospective of one of contemporary cinema’s most fiercely original voices. We will be screening Ramsay’s four feature films and several of her shorts films; there will also be introductions and post-screening discussions with Triskel’s Head of Cinema Chris O’Neill and a variety of guest speakers.
