93 mins – United States 2014 – Dir: Susanna Fogel
Starring: Leighton Meester, Gillian Jacobs, and Adam Brody
At 29, the most long-term relationship Sasha (Leighton Meester – Gossip Girl) and Paige (Gillian Jacobs – Community and Love) have ever been in is with each other, using their co-dependent friendship as an excuse not to venture out into the dating world alone. But when Paige meets Tim and starts to get serious for the first time, the nature of their friendship begins to shift. Fearing she’s being cast aside, Sasha tries to keep their relationship the same, but does growing up also mean growing apart? Susanna Fogel’s directorial debut is a charming comedy about friendships, growing up and relationships. “The two stars display a winning chemistry in this amusingly observant study of female friendship” according to Hollywood Reporter, while HeyUGuys writes that “Fogel has created a film that is at times a social satire, a romantic comedy, and a coming-of-age tale all woven together into a satisfying and heartfelt chronicle of a beautiful friendship”.
Also screening with Life Partners will be the short film Minor Setback (11 minutes, directed by Augustine Frizzell)
