JOB DESCRIPTION – Sound/Lighting Assistant

The role of the Lighting/Sound Assistant has the following specific responsibilities.  However, other duties may be assigned from time to time and therefore flexibility in all matters is required.

The Candidate will report to Facilities Manager of Triskel Christchurch and/or other person/s to be advised with regard to all duties assigned, must follow-up each assignment and report back as required.

Duties will be varied but will include:

  • To assist Technician with setting up lighting/sound events
  • To liaise with Wedding Programmer and customer needs
  • To maintain all equipment used to do with lighting/sound events
  • To write up condition reports on lighting/sound events
  • To prepare the venue for screenings with blackouts and mood lighting
  • To assist with any duties assigned by the Facilities Manager
  • To have working knowledge of lighting operation.

Training

  • Training can be provided to improve skills.

General

  • General duties as required in consultation with the Facilities Manager
  • You will be required to sign in and out of work each day
  • Punctuality is very important

Triskel Arts Centre is one of Irelands leading cultural institutions based in the heart of Cork City. It was founded in 1979 and five years ago the organisation restructured moving the main venue into the stunningly restored adjacent Christchurch.

Triskel Christchurch is a multi-disciplinary space offering the public a heritage venue, cultural cinema, live music, visual art, literary events, educational workshops, an alternative wedding venue and more. The space is usually open seven nights a week and Tuesday to Saturday open from 10am as a gallery and heritage space.

Triskel Gallery Space is Triskel Arts Centre’s dedicated visual art gallery space.

Theatre Development Centre is a studio space dedicated to the development of professional theatre showcasing to the public each Friday evening.
