Cork World Book Fest 2017 – Comedy and Biography Book Tickets

Saturday 22 April

With Paul Howard aka Ross O’Carroll-Kelly.

Paul and Ross will come together to read from and talk about Ross’s latest comic novel, ‘Game of Throw-ins’, which is about Ross’s mid-life crisis (he is 35 and feeling the loss of all potential never realised).

Note: Paul Howard’s Saturday event has been rescheduled to 12 noon on Saturday 22 April as the original time clashes with the Munster v Saracens game. This should come as a relief rugby fans who would have had a dilemma on their hands – whether to watch the match or to attend Howard’s Cork World Book Festival event featuring the mid-life crisis of his alter ego, the incorrigible Ross O’Carroll-Kelly, as described in Game of Throw-Ins. Ross is 35 and feels the loss of all potential never realised.

“The greatest book about what contemporary Ireland is like is always the most recent Ross O’Carroll-Kelly work. There are occasional rumours that his books are actually works of comic fiction written by a mischievous, very naughty and supertalented Dublin journalist, but any sensible reader knows that this is not so. They are a truthful, accurate and meaningful record of the social class that destroyed Ireland, written from the inside.” – Joseph O’Connor, The Irish Times

Paul Howard is also the author of the highly acclaimed biography of the Guinness heir Tara Browne – fan of fast cars, modern jazz and recreational drug – titled ‘I Read the News Today, Oh Boy’.
